Who is exempt from the Schengen visa fee?
Four categories of applicants pay nothing or a reduced amount. Bring documentary proof of the qualifying status to your appointment.
Children under 6 years
Visa fee and operator service charge both waived. Age taken at the date of application.
EU citizen family members
Under Directive 2004/38/EC. Spouse, dependent children or dependent parents of an EU/EEA citizen.
Students & researchers
Some country and programme rules apply. Proof of enrolment or research-host invitation required.
Youth (โค 25) at non-profit events
Seminars, conferences, sports tournaments and similar non-commercial events.
Bring proof at your appointment: passport (age), marriage certificate (EU family), enrolment letter (students), or event invitation (youth).
